Biography

Keren Ben Rafael is a screenwriter and director living between Paris and Tel Aviv. She studied Philosophy and French Litterature at the Tel Aviv University and she is also graduated from La Fémis, directing department. Virgins (2018) is her first feature film. The film was developed with the great support of the Jerusalem Film Lab, the Haifa film pitch and Cinemart (International Film Festival Rotterdam). Her three shorts films have been selected and awarded at festivals: At the Beach (2015), winner of the Unifrance Prize and the France Television Prize at the Tous courts Festival of Aix-en-Provence, Northern Lights (2013), with Ana and Hippolyte Girardot in the collection “write for” by Canal + and screened at the Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival and at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival and I’m your man (2011), Special Jury Award at the Colcoa Film Festival of Los Angeles, 1st Beaumarchais-SACD Prize and Best Actor Award for Vincent Macaigne at the Seinema Festival. Keren Ben Rafael has also directed the documentary Bite Into Life (2013 – 52mn), Best Director Award at the Femina Festival of Rio de Janeiro.
