After training at the Jean Périmony School of Acting and a postgraduate course in Internationnal Law, Louis-Do de Lencquesaing started working in the theater with Valère Novarina and at the same time was assistant to Alain Cuny, Luc Bondy, Samy Frey and Bruno Bayen. His first roles were in the films of Arnaud Desplechin (LIFE OF THE DEAD and THE SENTINEL), and Jean-Luc Godard (ALAS FOR ME). He then appeared in features directed, among others by Pascal Bonitzer (MORE, SMALL CUTS), Laetitia Masson (FOR SALE), Olivier Assayas (SENTIMENTAL DESTINIES), William Nicloux (A PRIVATE AFFAIR), Hugo Santiago (THE WOLF OF THE WEST COAST), Michael Haneke (HIDDEN), Nobuhiro Suwa (A PERFECT COUPLE), Benoit Jacquot (THE UNTOUCHABLE). In 2009, he played a charismatic producer gradually destroyed by the failure of his production company in the film directed by Mia Hansen-Løve (FATHER OF MY CHILDREN), then a film directed by Jacques Doillon (IN THE FOUR WINDS), Bertrand Bonello (HOUSE OF TOLERANCE), Malgorzata Szumowska (ELLES), Philippe Ramos (THE SILENCE OF JOAN), Maiwenn (POLISS), Emmanuel Mouret (THE ART OF LOVE), Sophie Lellouche (PARIS-MANHATTAN), Xavier Giannoli (SUPERSTAR). Without ever leaving the stage throughout the 90s and 2000s, Louis-Do de Lencquesaing continued to act in the theater under the direction of among others Valere Novarina (YOU WHO INHABIT TIME), Didier Goldschmidt (PAGE 207 AND THOSE FOLLOWING IT), André Engel (WOYZECK), Bruno Bayen (THE SEXUAL NEUROSES OF OUR PARENTS), Jean-Louis Benoit (THE CURSE OF BEING WITTY), and Lukas Hemleb (HARPER REGAN).
