Biography
Born in Lebrija in 1965, Benito Zambrano studied film at the international Film School San Juan de Los Banos in Havana, Cuba. He has made two short films and written two screenplays. Solas, his first feature film, has received innumerable awards including the Panorama Audience Award and the Special Prize of the Ecumenical Jury in Berlin (1999), the FIPRESCI award in Brussels in 2000, Best Actor and Best Actress in Tokyo (1999), as well as awards at festivals in Havana and Spain. HABANA BLUES is his second feature film.
