Biography

Emmanuelle Bercot was born in Paris in 1967. After training as a dancer, she took drama classes and worked as an actress in the theatre and since 1987, in the cinema. In 1984 she entered the Film Directing Department of the FEMIS and graduated in 1998. She directed three short films there, including Les vacances which received numerous prizes in many festivals, and the Jury Award in the Short Film section at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997. She has since directed a T.V. film, le Choix d'Élodie, in 1998. CLEMENT is her first feature film.
