Biography

Born on March 12, 1968 After studying acting, dance, Hebrew, French literature and Arabic, Karin Albou enrolled in a film school in Paris. Her first short film, "Chut", was awarded the Cinécinéma Best First Film prize. After a documentary ("Mon pays m'a quitté "), she chose to talk about Algeria, her father's homeland, in her second fiction "Aid el kébir", winner of the Grand Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival. "La Petite Jérusalem" was her first feature film followed by "Le Chant des Mariées". Née le 12 mars 1968 Après des études de théâtre, de danse, d'hébreu, de littérature française et arabe, Karin Albou a fait une école de cinéma à Paris. Son premier court-métrage "Chut" a reçu le prix du premier film de Cinécinéma. Après un passage par le documentaire ("Mon pays m'a quitté " ), elle a choisi de parler de l'Algérie, le pays d'origine de sa famille paternelle, pour sa seconde fiction "Aid el kébir", couronné par le grand-prix du Festival de Clermont-Ferrand. "La Petite Jérusalem" est son premier long-métrage suivi par "Le Chant des Mariées".
